Proud of my Wife!

Since this is a general discussion section, I'd like to say how proud I am of my wife.

About a year ago my wife said she wanted to join the Air Force. Well, me being a disabled veteran, I was fully supportive. Over the last year, she has worked her butt off to lose enough weight to join. I am happy to say that she will be swearing in tomorrow at 1000 hours.

Make your family and country proud!

Sorry just couldn't say it anywhere else since her family doesn't want her to go, but me and my dad are both veterans, so we are very proud!

As a congratulations gift, I plan to buy my wife her very own rifle. Most likely an AR of some sort, which is a good thing that way she can practice and a good thing because I already load for the .223/5.56.

Congratulations to your wife, you SHOULD be very proud.


However, this is a General Discussion forum but it still has to be firearms related. As such, this isn't really on topic. I'll leave it open for a couple hours so a few more members can throw in their accolades, but it will have to be closed as off-topic before too long.;)
 
Unless, of course, the OP wants to modify post one, adding comments about the pistol he should buy her as congratulations.
 
Sorry I apologize. I thought it could be about stuff in general. I was bubbling with pride and couldn't put it in Facebook because her family don't like the idea. Lol.

Sorry, but thank you for keeping it open for a couple hours. I appreciate it.

jwrowland77, it's ok. I'm glad you wanted to tell us. I hope we have a bit of a "family" vibe going here. We should all be glad for the accomplishments of other members.:)

She'll shoot that in service.

This is a momentous thing here,,,
Get her something a bit more unusual.

Until the Beretta became the standard military sidearm,,,
The Air Force issued the S&W Model 15 Combat Masterpiece.

Perhaps you could find a clean specimen,,,
Then install ivory grips with her date of induction.

An AR would not be a bad gift,,, :rolleyes:
But a pristine Model 15 would be very cool. :D

I hafta fess up,,,

My love affair with the Model 15 comes from my Air Force days (1970-78),,,
It was the sidearm I carried when I was stationed in Germany (Hahn AFB).

But it is an absolutely fine handgun,,,
Possibly the finest .38 special revolver ever made.

Have fun deciding.

Who else has a suggestion for an appropriate gun gift for the new WAF,,,
When she finishes basic training she'll be plenty ready to shoot someon,,, eerrr,,, something.

Congrats, and I, as others as well, wish her the best with her future.

As to the gift for her...Hmmm First try to hint around and find out her wants, and then once you have some ideas let us know here and we can give ya some more help!
