Prototype Mauser with Mannlicher type magazine?

Doesn't look like a Mannlicher magazine to me. It looks like the standard, 5-shot vertical column magazine that was used on the 7.65x53 Argentine Mausers.

The action and magazine came out in 1889 for Belgian service. Note mention of Belgian proofmarks. There was a good general article on Belgian Mausers in American Rifleman a while back. Taking an Argentine bayonet might be a red herring. They may not have had the details finalized by carbine no 9. After 116 years, who knows?
