Proper sling mounts for 870 Express

I'm gonna be putting a VTAC sling on my 870 Express, and I think the front side mount would be better than the vertical. If I am a righty, should the sling mount come out to the left of the gun or to the right, so that I can hang the shotgun across my body?

Really? So the sling should be mounted to the opposite side of the ejection port if you are a righty?

Yes, because the butt end of the sling will loop over your right shoulder and under your left arm pit area. When you mount the shotgun the forward end of the sling will be coming from the left side of your body.

I have a Vickers Combat Applications Sling (VCAS) on my 870 (http://www.blueforcegear.com/product.cfm?type=cat&cat_id=5&prod_id=79).
