Proper hold for SBH

My buddy has a 70's SBH. Last time out we couldnt get it to shoot high enough at 25yds. Aiming center mass impacting 6-8" low. Adjusted rear sight all the way up. What is the next option? File front sight? It groups beautiful at this range with 180gr. IMO it should be dead on or a bit high so we can move it out to 50yds.
 
Yep. If you file the front sight, you might not be able to zero with a "real" bullet. Those 180's are a vain attempt to make a revolver something it's not.
