First of all I'd like to thank everyone for the advice on aftermarket magazines to avoid. I was unable to get Meg-gars for my Sig 226 so I wound uo with Promags ($11.95 from J. G. Sales). Last weekend I had the opportunity to try them. I wasn't expecting great results, but I was pleasantly surprised. Each magazine held its allotted 15 rounds and fed them without fail into the pistol. The only trouble I had, and it happened with both magazines, was a failure to feed the 5th or 6th round when I started with 10. When I started with a full magazine - no problems. The feed lips seem a little rough compared to the factory mags, so I'll smooth them up before my next try.
