Ordered a Remington 700 LR in 7mmMag from Buds for a project rifle.

When it comes in modifications will commence:
Badger Bolt Knob
Timney Trigger set to 2.0lbs
DNZ Mount
Dip the stock in Mossy Oak Bottomland
Rattlecan the metal and receiver using the mesh bag technique over a basecoat of Duracoat.
Stock pack
Claw Sling so it is like my other hunting rigs.
Possible Wyatt DBM so it is like the 7mm08

Optics are still up in the air:
Nightforce SHV w/ IHR (would like to see aftermarket turrets and lose the caps, anyone know if Kenton has this in the works?)
Meopta Meostar 4k w/ Kenton Turrets
Or may move my Trijicon 5X20X50 post to this gun and put one of the others on the 7mm08.

Really looking for a #4 or post reticle since I like simplified for hunting applications. Just glad Remington put a halfway decent stock on this offering.

Sounds like a cool rifle Salty, good luck on that build buddy.

You gonna sjhoot heavy or light bullets? And what is barrel and twist rate?

Oooh, be sure to post pics; we all like gun ****!

Edit-why is p*rn an edited word? I meant to say firearm pornography. That is, pictures of guns. Okay, naked pictures of guns, please remove all covers/cases before photographing.

I'll shoot whatever works best in it. I have a bunch of 140grn Barnes TSX loaded for my No.1 in 7mmMag. I'll start there and see how it likes the load. I also have some 150's loaded from a rifle I sold some time ago. I load 150's for my 7mm08 so I'm sort of hoping that the gun will like them in Ballistic Tips or Accubonds, be nice to just buy one bullet for both.

P O R N will be forthcoming. I'm in the planning stages now. Buying through Buds, I get to utilize their Layaway plan and cut out the wife's irritation over my gun obsession. Bless that woman, she has realized that I am sick and there is no cure. Luckily my father and her father shared the same thing so there is some understanding. My two boys may be even worse, they have quite the collection going now.

Pillar and glass bed the stock,it'll shoot even better.

How do you pillar and glass bed of a stock with a full bedding block? I have virtually the same stock on my 7mm08, you don't get too much better than .25-.375" 5 shot groups. I'll set this one up and play with the load. The biggest improvement I make in accuracy with the rifle itself is to replace the junk trigger Remington is using.
