My left-handed Remington 870 express magnum 12ga. made it home in time for the holidays! As I've said in other posts, I don't hunt anymore, and my guns have gradually evolved into a more SD oriented lot. After much searching and tips from members here I was still unable to find the barrel I wanted.
So, for the last three weeks it has been at the shop having the barrel cut to 18 1/4", vent rib removed, rethreaded for choke tubes, bead reinstalled, and re-blued. The quality of the work is outstanding, and the price of $125 I think more than reasonable for the (left-hand) backpack/camp friendly shotgun I hoped for.
I've included a pic with the post. I'm sure it's nothing most of you haven't seen before, But it is beautiful to me. Within minutes of getting home I gave it a good cleaning (that it didn't need) and replaced the Uncle Mike's buttstock shell holder which is now filled with 2 3/4" #1 buckshot. A choice I made in part from tips I got on this forum, So a hearty thank you to you all.
Best wishes and Happy Holidays, Bill
