Professional Ornance C15 Pistol, reliability, tactical uses?

I am intrigued about this Carbon Fiber AR15 like pistol. Does anyone have any real life experience (good or bad) that they can relay to me? Also what is the tactical application for this pistol as opposed to just using an AR15 carbine? I Know the pistol is smaller, but does the size cause other problems best corrected by just using an AR carbine?

You should contact Bishop over at AR15.com (when it's back up and running). He's created the Micro-CAR, a SBR (essentially his is a pistol with a stock) that I believe is also Class III. Based on what he's posted recently, I thought the accuracy was spotty at best. Others had concerns that the ballistics dropped of too much from the short 7.5" barrel (if my memory serves me -- remember the sites been down all week :(). Someone even claimed it was barely over .22 LR in performance, though I found that hard to believe. Basically I think Bishop's gun is a hell of a curiosity.

But, what could you do with this gun that you couldn't do with a .45 pistol? And there are only about 8.5" of barrel and another 3-4" of collapsable stock on a pre-ban 16" barrelled AR-15 carbine. That'd be a hell of a lot more versitile in my book (with a .45 on my side) than an AR-15 pistol. The rage these days seems to be pre-ban AR-15 carbines. There's a reason they're so highly regarded. And probably a reason ar-15 pistols are thought of as curiosities.

Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

I enjoy shooting mine (type 97), but I did have some difficulty with it at first. The bolt failed to come all the forward. Once I put about 30 rounds through it that problem disappeared.
The only tactical advantage it has is that it will accept those dreaded AR-15 30 rd. hi-cap magazines that give sarah brady the hives.
I haven't become proficient enough with it to really judge its accuracy, but it ain't no rifle! It does seem a little strange not having a stock on it.
So far, I have been unable to find a suitable holster for it ;), so forget CCW.
FWIW, the Carbon 15 rifle has a removable stock, which might offer you a more versatile arrangement.
