problems with PO LDA 45

Has any one else experenced problems with their pistols? My pistol and another officer's pistol (consecutively serial numbered) have had repeated failures to fire. The hammer will not come back and the weapon will not fire unless the trigger is pulled several times. I have partially dissassembled my pistol and have noticed that the transfer bar spring doesn't push the bar up enough to engage the sear. Are we the only ones havng these problems because all I hear about these pistols is that they are the best thing since sliced bread? My pistol has only 70 rounds through it (the last 20 ahd to be fired while pulling the hammer back slightly so that it would catch). The serial number range of the weapons is in the DA 29XX range. Thanks in advance for any information.

Contact Caroline at caroline@paraord.com or Larry at paraserv@epix.net for details on getting it fixed.
Some "update" parts need to be installed. :)

Thanks HS,
Was there a bad batch of springs put in the weapons or just some bad designed parts? Also, would you know what the serial number cutoff is for the guns needing the updated parts? We got the guns last December and as far as I knew they were some of the first ones in our area.

My LDA D-16 (DB1461) is a later model with an upswept grip safety & ext. ejector & hasn't malf'd (yet) & the update parts seem to be a new firing pin plunger, a new drawbar & another drawbar spring but don't quote me on it ! ;)
Sorry but have no idea on s/n cut off dates on newer models but it should've been after mine was made.
Got around 650rnds through it so far & I can nearly trip them off as fast as my P-16. :D
Best reccomendation for dry firing is to get a leather work glove on (saves yer thumb) & cock the hammer back about a 1000 times whilst remembering to keep your finger on the trigger all the way to the 1st joint like a revolver to get the straight back pull so that you don't pull the shot low & left.
Also for straight shooting I've found that with the LDA, I get better results by NOT having my r/h thumb on top of the thumb safety.
