Problem with Ruger Single-Six

Problem with Ruger Single-Six:

I have an older Ruger Single-Six that I bought about three years ago. It has two cylinders. One for .22LR and one for .22 Magnum. when I shoot .22 Magnums it seems to ding a little towards the center of the shell. Once it even knocked a hole in the back of the shell. Only about 2/3 of the bullets fire when using the .22 Magnum cylinder. The .22LR cylinder seems to do better. All bullets fire.

I think I'm going to call Ruger and see if they will look at it. I don't trust anyone else with this weird problem.

Anyone know of turn around time from Ruger? Do you think they would even take a look? Or will they tell me it's my problem and send me away?

P.S. I had sent Ruger this gun a couple years ago and they added the safety features and sold me a second cylinder (the 22LR I think).

I wouldn’t hesitate to return this revolver to Ruger. I am sure they will look at it because what you describe could be a safety problem. No, they will not “send you away.” A number of things could be causing you’re problem but I won’t speculate because I can’t examine the gun. You cannot go wrong by sending it back. Unless instructed otherwise include both cylinders.

It is normal for the firing pin to strike a little in from the edge of the rim on the .22 Magnum (it also has to strike the rim of the smaller .22 LR), but not that far in. Call Ruger, and I am pretty sure they will send you shipping instructions and a label so shipping will be on them.

Ruger will take care of you. I have sent a number of guns to them. Most of their work was free. Several times they even threw some stuff in for free like scope rings that were like $50 retail.
In fact I have sent my own Single Six back to them.
