Problem with Remington Coreloc

I picked up a box of 25-06 100gr to try in my Savage 111, out of the box I had three fail to fire! Firing pin dent in the primer but no bang.
I have never had this happen and three in one box seems odd.
Do I take these back to the retailer or contact Remington?
Will think twice about purchasing these again.

I would definitely contact Remington. I bought a 1000rd case of bulk UMC 9mm back when 9mm was hard to find. I found a few damaged cartriges inside and contacted Remington. They had me send back the damaged cartriges and in less than a week, there was a full 1000rd case sitting on my porch.

Thanks Stuka
I am new to center fire rifle, I have always shot Federal in my 9mm and not had any issues.
Is this a common problem with Remington?

I shot Core Lokt for years and never had a single issue with them. Hopefully it's just a funky batch.

Have you fired other types of ammo without problems through your gun?

Just curious.....

It can be a problem with any mass-produced ammo item. If you ever watch how fast those machines spit out primers and loaded ammo, its a wonder there aren't more misfires.

Like other's have said, give Remington a chance to make it right. Chances are, they will want to know the lot number off the box so don't throw that away.

Contacted Remington and got a very quick reply. Waiting on a postage paid package to send the bad rounds back. If they determine there is a problem they will replace them, works for me.
I have shot some other rounds from other manufacturers with no misfires.
We'll see what happens.
Thanks

Remington ammunition has been some of the most consistent that I have ever used, as far as standard (non-premium) fodder.

Remington "Express" ammo with plain old Core-Lokts (green/yellow box) is what I, and every gunsmith that I know, use as 'reference' ammunition for establishing a baseline, breaking in new rifles, fire-forming reference cases for improved chambers, or falling back on if all else fails. (Drove halfway across the country for a hunting trip and left your ammo on the kitchen table? Grab some Core-Lokts. Can't get the rifle to shoot anything? Try some Core-Lokts -- if they won't shoot at least moderately well, nothing will.)

I don't recall ever having a bad cartridge, either (be it caused by bad brass, screwed up primers, improper powder charge, etc). That says a lot, considering that their component Core-Lokts and component brass are not just terribly inconsistent and plagued by defects, but that I've had serious (dangerous) issues with every other major ammunition manufacturer's products.

It is absolutely not the end-all-be-all, but it has served me very well over the years and doesn't change radically from lot to lot, like some other manufacturers' products.

Did you try and fire them a second or third time?

I did not try to fire any of the three a second time. I did compare the fireing pin dent to the ones that did fire, with my naked eye there looked to be not difference in the dimple position on the primer or depth of dimple.
I will be anxious to hear back from Remington when they look at the rounds.

Thanks

Not Remington but a while back I bought the last two bags of Winchester .280 Remington brass on my LGS' shelf. One bag was 4 shells short and the other 3 short of a 50 count bag. Contacted Winchester and got a letter of apology and two coupons for $5.00 off any Winchester product.
The only Remington Coreloct ammo I have on hand is .280 Remington 150 gr. loads and 200 and 250 gr. .35 Whelen ammo. So far every one has gone bang when I shot it.

About 10-15 years ago my brother-in-law had some no fires with his .35 Remington. His uncle had a problem too with his .35. They both bought them at the same WALMART. Probably just a couple bad boxes got through. Other than that, I also swear by the "Green and yellow box". I try to use their brass and the CORLOKT bullets when I reload.

For the record, so everyone can see it....

It is Core-Lokt® (including the little 'registered trademark' symbol, if you really want to be anal).
Remington Core-Lokt

While minor misspellings generally aren't an issue, and most people understand what you're referring to, it can lead to confusion. Some of the misspellings of Core-Lokt end up more closely resembling different, discontinued products, than they come to resembling the Core-Lokt name.

Update on the ammo!!
I just received a brand new box of Core-Lokt 100 gr from Remington

Very pleased with the service and fact they stood behind the ammo.

Thanks
