Problem with new J Frame

I am really puzzled. 2 weeks ago I bought a new S&W 351 PD .22 mag J frame. Really nice weapon however when I ran 200 rounds through it at 20 feet it shot 3 inches right and 2 inches low. It consistently grouped 4 inches but always low and inside.

Anyway I figure I'm must be pulling the trigger and went back to the range today and benched the gun. Seems I'm a better shot then I thought, again low and inside. So I called S&W and its on its way for a check up.

I guess I expect more QA from a $500 S&W revolver. I have owned older J frames and never experienced this. What I am interested in knowing is if this is a fluke or is anyone else having an accuracy problem on their new airlite PDs also.

Once in a while one will get out that's not quite right, I once had a Model 19 that you couldn't get the sights to align and hit a man size target at 25 yards, the rear sight was adjusted as far as it would go but didn't help, I traded it off to get rid of it.

I don't know how much of a pistol shooter you are, but in some cases it might help to have someone else try it and see if they have the same problem.

Firearms are known to group different ammo in different places. This is especially so of rimfires. You should have tried different brands and makes of ammo first. Since it was grouping well and consistent there wasn't nothing wrong with the revolver. You just needed to find what ammo shot to the POA.
You should have sent a box of that ammo with the handgun and asked the factory if they could regulate the sights to shoot it to POA.

Beyond belief

I could not let things lay so I was out to the range again and to be brief it rained so I took off my glasses and continued to shoot. However the gun now hit as aimed every time. Put the glasses back on and its low and away again.

The gun is in my safe and I am drinking heavily.

After drinking everything in the house, and after the hang-over, try that glasses on and off stunt with a different pistol. If it doesn't duplicate, lay in a laarge supply of booze and call for Sherlock Holmes.
I've never heard of such a thing, and I have been to three state fairs and a rodeo!

taa, cs :D

Time for a new pair of glasses :D.

I had an old .22 revolver (don't remember the make/model, this was years ago) and I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it. I tried all types of ammo and I couldn't hit jack with it.

I let a friend try it and he was hitting POA each and every time.

I gave him the gun, heck, I couldn't use it so why not.
