Problem with Kahr P9 diagnosed

I looked at the gun with the magazine inserted but not locked into the well. Turns out that the bullets clear the slide stop by very little, perhaps 1mm. On recoil, the top round shifts forward very slightly and hits the slide stop. Physically larger bullets have more of a problem than smaller bullets because they have less clearance to begin with.

I will call Kahr and inquire about getting a slightly smaller slide stop. I doubt that both magazines are bad in the same identical manner. Will report on my experience with their tech support and with the P9, once it is fixed.

"Bother," said Pooh, reaching for his backup gun.
