Did not see area for advice when having mechanical problem
with rifle.
Just bought a new Marlin HMR .17. Took it out and shot it, then
went home to clean. Bolt came out easy, but three hours
later was trying to get bolt back in rifle. Got it in once and it
was jammed. Of course did something stupid and tried to run a .22
snake thru the barrel. It got jammed and possibly got hung up on the ejector that is sticking up in area where bolt goes. Not sure. Anyway, the ejector seems to be blocking bolt. If I push bolt it past ejector then bolt is stuck and will not function. Removed ejector and bolt fits and works fine. I can't imagine it got bent from jammed snake because it is pretty heavy duty, but for some reason it does not seem to be in a position to allow bolt to pass
and then function properly.
This is crazy. It usually takes 15 seconds to put a bolt back in a rifle and this has been a royal pain in the behind. I wish I would have looked at how the ejector and bolt intertwined but I've never had an issue putting a bolt back in any rifle until now--usually is it very easy.
Any advice would be appreciated.
