I just put a scope on a angle eject 30/30. Just a low priced simmons on a low priced rifle.
The problem is that when I started trying to sight it in, it was way low. So I clicked it in the proper direction and it came up about an inch at 25 yards. I kept clicking and shooting. It kept comming up but soon the clicks were all used up. It is still 6 to 8 inches low at 50 yards and it won't adjust any more.
Help, what can I do now?
 
Good question. Not being familiar with the scope blocks used on an angle eject Winchester, it's my turn for a dumb question. Are both blocks the same height or is one slightly taller than the other? If that's the case, reverse the blocks. If they're the same size (height) then you'll have to use shims. It's been a while since I've had to shim a scope, but IIRC, the front mount is the one needing the shims.
I'm sure some practicing gunsmith will chime in on this one.

Think of this way:
You are looking through the scope at the target. The point of impact is too low (high, right, left, whatever). What you need to do is move the barrel, not the scope, in the direction you want the shots to go. Your line of sight through the scope will always remain the same, it's the barrel you want move.
If the shots are too low, you will raise (shim) the rear mount to raise the angle of the barrel in relation to your line of sight.
In other words, you want to move the rear sight (or the rear of the scope) in the direction you want the point of impact to move.
You want to move the front sight (or front of the scope) the opposite of the direction you want the point of impact to move.

I had the same thing happen on a 94ae. Tried new rings, weaver replaced free of charge, didn't help. I tried shimming but, felt it was not a good long term solution. I recently had a friend replace some see thru mounts with non-see thru, where he couldn't hold a zero. Do they make non-see thru's for the 94

OK, I wound up with .024 shims under the rear mount. That got me back in the ballpark so the elevation adjustment could handle it without maxxing out.
I couldn't find any shims online for the winchester ranger so I took some of the advise and made some from a miller lite can.(no, it don't shoot with a slur) lol Probably never know it if you don't look hard.
