Pro Gun Companies

I know we have done this before, but with all of the newbies, I thought we should do it again.

What are Pro-gun companies that we SHOULD do business with?

1. General Motors sponsors many sporting events
2. The makers of Budweiser beer sponsor events.
3. Phillip Morris sponsor events (and make the best smokes :))
4. ?????

Come on guys and gals, lets support those who support us.

That's a pretty pathetic list, if you ask me. Certainly compared to what the MMM's could muster. And people wonder how the gov't ever figured to put Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms in the same basket ?

Does this mean I have to take up drinking & smoking to be a real RKBA supporter ?

We really should do more research and get a more comprehensive list. Does anyone remember the ones that were listed before?

Wal-Mart!! Yes, Wal-Mart. I had a very enlightening conversation with a very pleasent associate concerning their gun sales policy. It seems that there are several rumors floating around the internet rangeing from "Wal-Mart is stopping gun sales due to pressure from the Mad Masticating Mommies", to an 800 number telephone survey, with the winner being the group (us or them) who makes the most calls, thus determining whether Wal- Mart sells guns or not. Folks, these are all rumors!!! True, Wall-Mart is not going to STOCK guns, and ammo at ONE store in Tampa FL, due to it's close proximity to a school. There is some question in my mind whether it is legal for them to even do so because of that silly Federal law. Appearently, Wal-Mart's liers, I mean, lawyers think so too. However, guns will be available as a special order at this store. I was assured that Wal-Mart is NOT discontinuing firearms, or ammunition sales in any way. Guys, let's not get bent here. Wal-Mart is not in the same camp as Slick and Willy!! I just bought a brick of Federal .22's last week. I received warm and friendly service, as always. :) :) :)

RH, I am sorry you don't approve of my list. I got busy at work and had to finish quickly. Those companies were the only ones I could think of at the time.

Hey Chadintex-- I don't think RH was making fun of your list.

I believe he was disappointed in the number of recognizable common companies that support us gun folks. A lot of these companies don't publish or comment on their stance for fear of losing market share.
If major corporations believe in our cause, I wish they would let us know.
They would have a huge base of customers who would buy from them due to their published approval of our way of life.

RH, if I am wrong about your sentiments, please post that fact.

It's a good question, though probably hard to differentiate pro-gun companies from pro-hunting companies. For example, I know Fleet&Farm, Auto Zone, John Deere and most of the auto companies donate money to organizations like Ducks Unlimited, RMEF, and Buckmasters. I can't say that these same companies support gun iniatives. I also checked out the NRA web page and found the following http://www.nrafoundation.org/docs/friends_sponsors.html

For one near and dear to many a TFl'er:
The Gambrinus Company of San Antonio, Texas.
From what I've read, Carlos Alverez. head of Gambrinus is an active shooter as well as an avid collector of firearms. If he isn't pro gun, he sure looks like he leans that way.
You may know him better as the guy that owns the Shiner beer "factory" :)

Gregory Mountain Products and Mountain Hardwear and both pro gun. Gregory is owned by Bianchi.

tatters, thanks for clarifying my terse response.

No offense meant to Chad. What I meant to say was just how pathetic the whole situation is that companies like the Gap, and other PC-GenX appealing corps are very willing to give $, have their names posted, even put out print/TV ads stating their opinions, yet very few companies will step up to the plate and support freedom & the Constitution. Are they all run by liberals ? Is it PC-ness gone wild ? A focus on global appeal and not to be seen as a purely "American" company ? It's just depressing.

On the BATF thing, it was tounge in cheek, since I do not drink or smoke, and don't plan on starting. It is true though that people wonder how the gummint put the A, the T, and the F together, and then you look at Chad's list and there you go ! Unfortunately, in the eyes of the public, our hobby is seen as a "vice", much like tobacco & booze. Subject of course to strict scrutiny, taxation, penalty taxation, and controlled access.

Lets not just look at the BIG companies, check around your hometown. Look for the little shops that sell hardware, groceries, fishing gear, electronics, etc AND also sell guns or ammo. How about the pawnshops and jewelry stores that also are gun dealers? My shop has 4 store fronts where we repair consumer and commercial electronics, build and upgrade computers, build networks, repair big screens and when a customer comes in to pay for their VCR repair they write the check on a display cabinet full of handguns! On our walls between the Pioneer and GoVideo factory certificates are pix of G Gordon Liddy, Ronny Reagan, and The Duke. Selling firearms is our hobby and it is priceless to see the looks on some faces when they realize we are also "An evil gun store", it does not even pay the phone bill, but in these PC times a lot of dealers have locked their doors or had to diversify to make ends meet. If we don't support the little guys we will have to do all our shopping at Wal-Mart.
