R rantingredneck New member Jul 1, 2009 #3 Yep an FFL will be required. In most (maybe all?) cases a long gun can be transferred at an FFL in either the buyer or seller's state of residence. If it's a handgun it will have to go through an FFL in the buyer's state of residence.
