Private sale of firearms in New York

Hi I would like to know the laws about privet sales of firearms in New york. I wish to sell a rifle to my friend who is legally allowed to own it and was wonderin gabout the regulations. Thanks.
 
Private sales of long guns to non felons/ non excluded persons are perfectly legal in upstate NY. I'd get a bill of sale just for your own personal records though.
