Printing the Bill of Rights on the Dollar bill

I heard on a local Philadelphia station that a few senators are trying to pass a bill to put the Bill of Rights on the one dollar bill. This is something i am totally for. I realy like the fact they've issued individual State Quarters. I like the fact people are being reminded that we are United STATES and not one big mass of land. I think if some issues like Gay Rights and Abortion came down to State Issues instead of who's in the White house we would be better off. That way some of the Liberal States would get what they wanted and not impose on the rest of us. I think the majority of Americans in this country don't know what the Constitution is and what the bill of right are. I keep a copy of the Constitution in my Gun Safe and I think I'm going to carry it around now. Instead of just carrying guns around we should all be carrying around Pocket Size Bill of rights for our Co Workers and Liberal Americans. I think a lot of young Anti's don't have a clue what the Ammendments are. Anyone else here about this Dollar Bill thing?

Printing the Bill of Rights on a dollar bill? Not likely to get much attention.

Let me date myself. I attended Bellmawr Park School, in New Jersey. I was in the third grade in 1953. One day, a group of people (don't know the organization) visited the school, and gave everyone a booklet. Nice paper, hard canvas cover. Inside was the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, the Gettysberg Address, and the Pledge of Allegiance. (Yup, used to recite it every morning, back in them days.) It also had a short history of our flag.

Course, you can't give anything out like that these days, it wouldn't be politically correct to provide young impressionable minds with such dangerous information, besides, if you did something like that,

Rosie would have a COW!

No, excuse me, Rosie IS a cow!

Oh, darn, now I've gone and insulted cows!

"Sorry, no; you'll have to move to one of the states that allows self-dating."

darn, and I/we was gonna do dinner and the range..........

Y'know, I like this idea. I may write my congresscritters in support of it. Does anyone know who the sponsors are?

I've taken to writing the url of various websites on paper bills. Different ones on different bills, several on one bill, etc. Usually www.aware.org, www.saf.org, www.sas-aim.org and www.wagc.org, but sometimes I throw in www.citizensofamerica.org, www.jpfo.org and www.mothersarms.org. (I tried to pick ones that are not as "shrill" as GOA. The idea is that the more 'feminine' sites might entice more women than GOA or NRA.)

The Cato Institute publishes a handy small pocket sized book containing the Declaration, the Constitution, the BofR, and the Amendments. I keep it by my computer and routinely consult it when listening to talking heads. Its amazing how frequently it is used once it is available.

HAHAHAH Yes Rosie is a BIG FAT COW!!! Now that said we should lock her in her car (with about 100,000 twinkes), and PRAY that she eats herself to death! That would make this world just that much better.

Actually, theres a push, now that the new dollar coin is out, to phase out the paper dollar bill. It is the only bill that is not getting redesigned with the new Mad magazine graphics. They claim it's because no one counterfeits the one dollar bill, making a redesign more costly than its worth. I can't believe they'll keep bills with two different styles of artwork/graphics, though.
Other countries such as Canada have phased out their dollar bills to encourage use of their dollar coins. I believe the life of a coin is something like 25 years; a dollar bill has the quoted life of around 18 months.
So any push to include the BoR's may be futile.
