Not that your wrong or that it hurts anything, some rifles shoot better with sooted barrel, but why '3' primers?
Just have never had the need to fire that many before loading to hunt. Especially using rifle with 209 ign. system. IMO,Just a bit more soot shooting that many.
If I prep my rifle correctly before a hunt, most of the time I don`t fire any.
Usually day before hunt, I'll make sure bore, flash hole and breach plug area is as clean as I can get it. A final alcohol swab down the bore and breach plug/nipple dipped in alcohol removes any excess moisture. Lightly anti-seize breach plug threads and inst. breach plug.
At this point I know everythings clean and dry. With good open flash hole.
P.S. Also try Remington Kleanbore primers. They seem to be cleaner than the Federals.
Morning of the hunt, run dry patch down bore and load. Since cleaning and loading has been done in house with no temperature change, no moisture.
