I paid $250 for a new one a few months ago and felt I got a good deal. The store had a bunch of SKSs on sale for $269.95 each. I got a new Russian (not rebuilt) and the Norinco Paratrooper, both for $500 with accessories. Actually, I'm pretty sure the Russian was the better deal (its a nicer rifle and probably has more collector value), but I wanted the shorter barreled Paratrooper as a shooter. This is in Northern California.
