Price on P7M8 Referb.

Is $700 on par for a P7M8 referb. This particular model is what I think has a police emblem milled out of the slide. The seller claimes that is what he bought it for years ago. It sounds about right. Anything I should check out on the weapon specifically?

That sounds right. You can pull out the firing pin easily and check its condition. Check the gas piston and chamber to see how well it has been maintained. My refurb had one of the rear sight dots missing and in its place was white paint. HK sent me a brand new sight.

The few refurbs still on dealer's shelves seem to have crept past the $800 mark.

Reasonable price. I paid around $650 last year and it was like a new gun.

Some of the European posters on other boards have mentioned that there will be another batch of these available in the next year or two due to switches in firearms by several agencies across the pond. What the price will be is anyone's guess.

Still, at $700 it is a good deal. $725 is about as high as I would go on one with a plum colored slide. If the slide is black and the front sights aren't cracked at the base(a common problem with these refurbs) I would go $800.
