Price of a Fabrique National .223

What would be a reasonable price on an used Fabrique National .223? Excellent condition. Match barrel. Aimpoint 3 dot. Multiple high capicity mags.
 
It is the FNC. I think. It has not been rebarrled. A friend of mine bought it new and he is thinking about selling it. I am interested.

How does it compare to the Colt AR-15?
 
The price basically doubled earlier this year due to an article in SAR about how it is a relatively easy weapon to change over to a full auto configuration. For years these were an unwanted weapon, now between this article and the "assault weapon" hysteria they are getting pretty hard to find.
