Price for used G21

Hello fellow enthusiasts I need your wisdom concerning a Glock 21 that I have. I am thinking about selling it for a new USP9. The g21 has 500 rounds through it, trijicon ns, 3 ten rounders, with tupperware. It has the finger grooves and accessory rail. The gun is in excellent condition. So if I was to trade it in at my local gun shop toward a new USP9 with reg sights how much do think I can get? What would be the difference I would have to make up? How much could I get if I just sold it to a private party then used that cash for the USP9? Thanks in advance

As I am contemplating a G21, why are you trading it? Just for info, I have seen them in used cases for $399.

Rob96,
I'm getting rid of the G21 because I already have a Glock (g17) and my USP45f is getting lonely being the only HK :) Thanks

I see used Glocks in the $400 neighborhood on a regular basis. As a trade then, I wouldn't expect to get more than $300-$350 (the shop is in a for profit situation afterall). Then the USPs are in the $700-$750 range + tax and dros...probably owe another $400 for the switch.

You might be better off selling the gun yourself. You'd be left with more money to put down on the USP.

Do you prefer your HK USP45F over the Glock 21 or do you have a Glock 30 to keep your Glock 17 company?

As with a used car, you'll get more out of your used gun by selling to a private party rather than trading it to the dealer.

Figure $400 (give or take) for the pistol and mags, and you might be able to swing an extra $30-40 for having the night sights. I'd get a number in mind that you'll settle for and then add about 20% for room to come down. For example, you'd start at about $500 knowing that you'll take $450.

Good luck! (Though as a G21 lover I hate to see you get rid of yours!)

Thanks for the help guys...looks like I will put up my G21 for sale so keep an eye out for it in the sale forum.

JJCII, actually I do prefer my USP45f over my G21 because I'm more accurate with it although I must admit, both are fine shooters. The G17 will be the only Glock for now.

Bob Locke, your feelings are duly noted, the G21 was my first pistol and it will be missed, but as you know this hobby is very addicting and I've been bitten by the "I gotta have this..." bug.
