Ask on the Sniper's Hide forums. That's a pretty expensive Nightforce brand scope on there. Those are often in excess of $1,000 if real.

Scope= about $1200 + bases/rings ($150-$250)
Stock= about $500 + bedding ($150-$200) + adjustable buttstock ($300ish) + exterior finish work ($200ish) + paint/finish ($300)
Bolt= forged, fluted, tactical bolt handle = $400
Action= $400 + assuming trued, lapped, bolt properly fitted $500ish
Barrel (assuming it's a good'n)= about $400 + about $300 installation
Cost to the original customer is likely somewhere around $5,000 as shown.

So what did your buddy pay?

If you feel guilty accepting a gift of that sort, just ship it to me and I will ease your conscience.

The trigger pull is crazy light.

Appears to be a Jewell trigger. They are adjustable; they normally come with three different springs for poundage adjustment (along with using the adjustment screw), from 1.5 ozs to 3.5 lbs.

Mine is set at 1 lbs; most from Jewell come present at that weight.

Also separately adjustable screws for over travel and sear engagement.

The rifle is based on a Remington 700 in .308...that in itself is a good starter. The NightForce scope ( at opticsplanet) is at least $1300, or twice the cost of the base Rem 700. And...it goes up from there. I wish someone would give me a gift like that. (Hint to the kids...Fathers Day in two weeks)
