My lgs has a pristine 36 no dash, no box or papers.
And thinking about selling my own model 19, orignal box and papers in pristine condition and 24 total rounds on it.
Regards,

In my area the model 36 would go for between $400-$550.

The Model 19 would go for $425-$575. If you trade you will not get that much.

Best chance would be an even trade but that would depend on the lgs.

All this would depend on the descriptions being as described.

1-7/8"bbl or 3"bbl? Flat latch or scalloped latch? Diamond stocks or no diamonds? Barrel pinned or unpinned? Round butt or square?

FWIW a peculiarity of the M36 is that it was produced from the inception of model numbers in 1957 until the mid-1980s in no-dash form. This yields an unusually large number of variations with differing rarity and value, even though the dash number remained the same. Notably—for reasons that cannot be explained by medical science ;)—the M36 did NOT get a new dash number when the barrel pin was eliminated, unlike virtually every other S&W revolver model.

A few months ago I paid $650 OTD for a pristine 19-3 4" with box & papers. I wasn't particularly looking for that but when I saw it, I had to have it, because I just don't see them that often and that nice.

At the time I was looking for a snub nose 38. The same LGS had a S&W 36 (don't know about the dash) and a few Colt Detective Specials (2nd & 3rd issue), all with varying amounts of holster wear priced from $350 - $400. I got the 3rd issue Det Special because it was in the best condition and it had the larger grip for my big hands. $375 OTD. No box or papers. Touched it up with some Brownells cold blue and it looks like new.

I don't know what the price difference for a used 19-3 vs a 19-7 is but the 19-3 is one of my best shooters and I ain't never getting rid of it.
