Price Check on P220

I saw an offer in a local paper for a Sig P220, with night sights, Hogue grips, case, and paperwork for $500. Is this a good price? I am wanting to get a .45, and have heard a lot of good comments about this gun, but still think I may wish to get a 1911 instead.

I saw several P220s at a gun show in Denver a few weeks back that were in the $650-700 range. I recently sold one in excellent condition for $550 with extra soft rubber and hardwood Hogue grips which is about what I paid for it two years before. It sounds like your P220 with night sights might be a good deal, particularly if its not worn out.

Very good price

I paid $639.95 + 8% sales tax way back in March of
95, for a Sig P220A .45ACP. Mine is the standard
Sig sight's; cuz I can't seem to see the SigLite's
during daylight hour's? If you desire to have a DA/SA .45 caliber auto loader, this is the way to go!!! My opinion, it's by far the best yet.

**FootNote: The SigLite night sight's are worth
an extra $100, themselves.

When you examine the pistol...

...field strip it and check the slide rails in the frame. If they're in good shape, it's a good sign.

If it's not beat up and worn out, $500 for a P220 w/night sights is a good price in my area.

You can date the pistol by checking the two-letter code under the muzzle. Start with A=0 and go through K=9 [skip the 'I', it's too easy to confuse it with a '1'].

For instance: KH would be a 1997 production.
