Found three deals I'm kicking around and want experianced input & thoughts before deciding.

Ruger Security Six 4" blue. Beat to hell & back, serious finish wear, nice & tight. $230. (.357 mag)

Rossi 88-2 2" SS. Near mint, Nice & tight. $200. (.38 Spec.)

S&W 37 2" blue. Near mint. Nice & tight. $300. (.38 Spec.)

Oh, one other I'll toss in, a .22LR

Beretta 21A NIB $260.

Use? Range, plinking, investment, collection, Wife? Ammo cost not a deciding factor, have dies & such.

I'd try to cut a deal for under $200 for the ruger if the bore looks nice and the action is good. Make a good plinker for sure.. is it stainless or blue?

Its blue and beat up pretty bad. It looks like it came from an extended range session right to the sales case. Real dirty in the bore, unable to tell without cleaning if its just dirty or is a POS. I already offered them 150 for it and they said no, but came down from 260 to 230.

Maybe I'll walk in there with some hoppees and a brush and get a closer look at it. But seeing as how it might wind up being my wife's gun, I might just pass on it for one of the other smaller ones. (but for 150 I'd jump on it even if I had to have ruger rebarrel it!)

I wonder if the smith is worth 100 more than the rossi.

the 'Smith

is in all probability worth a hundred more than the Rossi. Most are,IMO.
I'd skip the Ruger,a new barrel would kill the deal, period.
IF the Ruger happens to clean up nice, grab it,but don't let em raise the price after YOU'VE cleaned it for them.

I'm with Throck.

If the rifling is good and deep, no pitting, and its shiney.. its still a good gun that just needs some love.
