Price check on G19

I'm going to buy a Glock 19 this upcoming National Gun Buying Day (aka. the 9th). I can get one NIB with fixed sights for $485. What do you think of this price? Good, bad, or ugly? I can also get a factory night sight model for $595. I think that the fixed sight model + meps might be the better deal.
Thanks

Kel

Happy Independence Day!

I you have to have NIB then the price is OK.Many used ones are around for $375 to $400. Glock service is good, and any parts needed are usually replaced no-charge. Used 19 with Hi-Caps may be available also, at the used prices. I personally like to buy new only, unless I know the owner, and can check out the gun before buying it..The 19 is a great carry gun. I beat mine up, and it always works.

I just picked up two mdl 19's for around $400 ea, from different locations.....one had the factory hi-cap, and the other had been replaced with a 10 rounder.........fubsy.

The place that I'm going to buy the 19 from actually has a used third generation for $400. I really don't know what to look for in a used pistol, so I am very hesitant to drop that kind of money. Maybe with many more years of experience, I might feel confident enough to buy used......but for right now I'd rather spend the extra $85.

Hey fubsy.....this might sound dumb......what does mdl mean?

Thanks all,

Kel

Rule of thumb for buying "like new" firearm is about 80% of NIB price, so that makes $400 for a "like new" G19 about right. And $485 for a NIB is also just about right. We were selling them for $479 at the shop where I worked last year, and we had the lowest price in SE Virginia.

mdl = model.......I probably should have used the g19 designation as mdl 19, is most often referred to a smith revolver.....fubsy.
