A used Leupold 2x is $88 in like new condition, I have bought two of them at gun shows. A 66 is a stainless steel gun. A 19 would be the blued version and used is around $200, but neither the adj site 19 nor the fixed sight 13, both K-frames, have thin barrels. The 586 and 581 are blue L-frames and neither of them have thin barrels, in fact both are underlugged. That leaves the 27 and 28 series. Both blue N-Frames. As Gunslinger suggested check the serial number and look inside the yoke on the frame for a model number. If the gun has a pinned barrel and recessed chambers it is more desirable. I just bought an 8 3/8" model 27-2 in the two piece blue box with papers in Tulsa. It has been fired, but not noticably and cost $350. If it is a mod 28 the gun is worth about $250 if it has the 6" barrel plus the scope and I still don't come up with $389. Examine this pistol very closely on the top strap by the forcing cone. I looked at one in north Texas last year that had flame cutting all the way across the top strap and was cutting through the edges. Also check the timing, if it has been shot extensively with heavy loads you will usually find at least a couple of chambers off even on an N-frame.
