Price check on a Sig 229

I'm considering a trade for an excellent condition Sig 229 in .40 It doesn't have night sights or anything but it looks great. How much do you expect the gun is worth?

Worth is pretty relative. What would I pay? $600-$650. I wouldn't pay any more than that and that's assuming two mags. The price of 40SW pistols has plummeted as of late. Top Gun Supply had new P229s for I think $679+shipping recently.

Yes, two mags with box and papers. The trade is for a guitar that is worth about $600.

I'd probably use this one for woods carry and would like to purchase a .357 conversion barrel for that purpose. Is that a bad idea with a .229?
 
There are a couple of nice ones on GunBroker that will probably sell from $400 to $500. I paid $415 for mine plus 10% sales tax. These do not have box and papers. All things considered and since it is a trade, you are doing pretty dang good in my view.
 
Yea I think that's fair. I don't think it's a screaming deal but I am aways willing to pay more for a pistol I can inspect in person.

As for using a 357 SIG barrel yeah that should be fine.

I suspected you were saying what you said or whatever. :)

I think it is a fair deal and the same for the other person If they think your guitar is worth six hundred. I also plan on acquiring a .357 barrel in the future.

Mine had night sights (Siglites), but they were dim. I bought a new factory set, front and rear, for $60 buck off eBay. They are nice and bright. The seller has them for Buy it Now at $65 and allows offers. He will not accept an offer less than $60 with free shipping.

Good fortune with the swap.
