Price check on 1897 Winchester

I found an 1897 at about 60% in good working order seems to have been used but not abused. 28 barrel ser #787xxx. If anyone can tell me when it might have been made and value. Not much of a shotgun guy other than for S/D.
 
That shotguns Serial # dates it about 1928. 97's are going kinda high for decent ones. One in 60% condition like you describe should bring about $350-$450 in my neck of the woods. Cowboy action shooters are buying them up and cutting the barrels for their competitions. :eek: If you get it keep it original. It is the predecessor of the M12. The only basic difference is the hammer on the 97. I have one dated about the same period that I shoot several time a year that has a polychoke on the end of the barrel. It will still break 25 straight on the skeet range. :D
