I've got an opportunity to pick up a NIB Remington 870 for $200. Is this a decent price? This is one of those deals that even though I don't really 'need' another shotgun, I've always kind of wanted either a Moss 500 or Rem 870... So, whadya think?
Oh my gosh, that's a terrible price. He's trying to rip you off. Give me his number and I'll save you from this purchase.
Actually, that's a very good price. The cheapest I've ever seen them here was just before deer season and they were $210. I'd jump on that bargain. You can never have too many guns.
Gizmo, why do you say east coast only, are the priced different that the rest of the chain? I know around here (WA) the express at Wally costs $300 for 12 ga. and $250 for 20 ga.
I just bought an NIB Rem 870 Express from Sports Authority for $239 before tax and background check here in Florida. That was the best price I could find on a new one. Walmart had them for $244. Mine came with a 28" barrel with a replacable modified choke. It also has the new lockable safety and the dimples in the magazine tube (since dremeled off for the addition of an extended magazine).
In the Pacific Northwest the Bi-Mart chain has the Express models on sale until the 27th.
3" Chamber = $219
3.5" = $259
These are the standard models with the wood stocks. Not sure how many choke tubes they come with. Good price though. They also have 10/22's for $129
I don't work there, but I do like the store. They have helpful salespeople that know their stuff. Too bad they don't sell handguns anymore (they used to).
