Hey everyone, I happened to stop by a local pawn shop today and they have a very nice Colt Pocket Positive for $400. It seems to be in excellent condition with what I'd estimate to be 95% or better bluing (the yellow paint in the lettering on the barrel is still intact though a bit faded) and original hard rubber grips with no perceivable chips or cracks. The action locks up tight (typical old Colt bank-vault lockup), timing seems perfect, and the bore is great.
The caliber stamp is ".32 Police Ctg." which, as far as I've been able to discern, was Colt's designation for .32 S&W Long (they refused to put a competitor's name on their guns). It appears to have a 4" barrel but, on such a petite gun, it could be shorter and still have the proportions that a 4" tube would have on a larger revolver. While I know enough to be dangerous, I'm admittedly not as up on Colt revolvers as I am on S&W's, so what to the Colt people think? Is this a good price, average, or high?
