I noticed in a reload manual that the pressure for the max 9mm loads listed hovers in the 29,000 - 30,000 cup range, yet max loads in 40s&w are only in the 22,000 to 23,000 cup range. How can this be, if the SAAMI spec is identical (35,000 psi)? This data makes it appear that you COULD in fact "hot-rod" the .40, provided in wasn't in a gun "shoe-horned" from 9mm - but this is contrary to the word on the street re kbs. So what gives?
