President Bush the WINNER!

The Secretary of State in Ohio has declared GWB as the winner in Ohio. The number of provisional votes won't make a difference according to him due to the insurmountable difference in the popular vote.

The democrats are still not giving in and saying that every vote needs to be counted.

The White House Chief of Staff has just, on Fox News, declared GWB as the winner of the election. They are claiming at least 286 electoral votes.

GWB has received more of the popular vote than any President in history according to him.

Electoral vote:

Bush - 269
Kerry - 242

Republicans also have both the House 212/193 and Senate 53/44.

Make sure you give all the democrats you know a nice box of tissues. :D

Daschle has also been ousted which is a major blow to the Democrats. Is the guy that beat him a 2nd Ammendment allie?

I won't send them crap! :barf:

The ones that I know won't admit that they voted for Kerry just like in 2000.

Jamie, more or less... Thune is graded "B" by the GOA.

Nice!!

Is there a chance the democrat party will understand it needs to stop moving to the left

For the record:

I'm a registered Pennsylvania Democrat and voted for Bush.

My wife is a NJ Democrat who voted for Clinton in 96, Gore in 2000, and President Bush in 2004.

Throwing Daschle out of the Democratic party speaks louder than Bush beating Kerry... for Democrats.

I voted for 3 Republicans, 1 Democrat, 1 Libertarian, and 1 Constitution Party Candidate. And I didn't compromise my beliefs one bit. My State will be the State that puts out the non-leftwing Democrats.

The only thing I wish would have happened was an Ex-Communication of Kerry by the Catholic Church.

Daschle is an F

Thune is a B

The GOA grades fairly harshly (and rightly so) so I would count Thune as a friend of the RKBA. :)

don't count your chickens yet. There will still be challenges, although, if the election were decided today, i believe it would go to bush. But i would refrain from saying anything yet. As a side note, there were about 5 happy people on campus this morning (I being one of them), and everyone else was in a rather foul mood.

The "elites" -- media, academic, political, entertainment, and so forth -- talk and listen only to each other, thereby forgetting the overwhelming number of Americans who have strong, and principally faith-based, values. All the "red" on the electoral map emphasizes that there is a lot of America between the two costal plains where the “elites” are so self-important -- and the "red zone" grows in size and influence every day.

Further, let us be brutally honest: While I detest Kerry and voted for Bush, the fact is W's record is not stellar. Therefore, if we -- the silent, values-oriented, majority -- can elect a President with a less than popular war and a marginal economy, imagine what we can do with an even stronger candidate.

Soda Pop....converting democrats one at a time :D

PA is getting closer...there is hope yet!

Can't say I will miss Daschle's puss on TV :barf:

Certainly this is a lot better than the 2000 election on TFL.

Everybody say cheese :p

I'm very happy that Repubs got the prez and senate, for scotus appt reasons re gun rights, but I'm at the same time very frightened of what the all-repub govt is going to bring us- patriot 2, 3, 4, 5? Iraq 2, 3, 4? They've already set the record budget deficit, so they can try to break their record I guess - I'm sure they will. They will continue to let illegals cross the borders in droves undoubtedly ('course, the dems would have too). Ideally, for me, the dems would have grabbed the house and the repubs the prez and senate - gridlock is GOOD! It will be an interesting ride now - hang onto your wallets and your 1st, 4th, 5th, and 7th amendment ideals - hopefully the tradeoff will be that we can secure our RKBA for posterity via the scotus in the next 5-20 years. Although I'm not religious myself, I must thank all of you Christians allies out there with strongly held beliefs for helping us to deliver Bush back in office - you were the difference in this election, it seems.

However, I must chime in briefly, without starting a whole big "thing" on abortion, that to many dems and other independents who are generally "pro-choice", it is very important to take heart by noting that, with respect to roe v wade, etc. : contrary to what many believe and the media usually reports, if shrub appts end up reversing roe v. wade via appts, it is NOT, NOT, the "end of the world" - this is because that there simply has been an alleged constitutional right to abortion (which there's NOT - roe v wade is BAD law) - so *IF* roe v wade is overruled, this ONLY means that the STATES can then decide whether or not abortions is legal, and to what extent - that's where the power should be anyway - at the STATE level. So there's STILL going to be a democratic process to which any abortions bans, to be successful, must be subjected, and that is in the state legislatures. So a reversal of roe v wade, et al, is not only not the end of the world, but it's the correct legal ruling (if you read your constitution, there's no mention of abortion, nor a right to contraceptives for that matter). So, without getting into the whole debate of whether abortion is right/wrong, or should be legal/illegal, it's important to correct the general misunderstanding of the public that "roe v wade reversal=abortions are banned" - not so at all! It just means the states can then decide on a state-by-state basis, always subject to turnover and new values in the state legislatures.

Firstfreedom, that's why I voted for Badnarik. I am not happy with Bush's handling of many domestic issues.

Abortion... if abortion is murder, the states do have the power to criminalize it -- or not. If the foetus is not a human, it's not murder, and any state which criminalizes it violates a woman's right to privacy. If a woman wants to undergo a medical procedure that carries some risk of serious complications, for the purpose of removing some tissue that will cause serious disability for 5-6 months and legal and social liability for 18 years after that, that is her choice. There's no power vested in the State governments that allows them to prohibit abortions unless it can be said that the foetus is a human and has rights that compete against its mother's rights.

What We Have to Look Forward to

Hilary Clinton's campaign for the presidency began at 8:00 a.m. this morning!

I actually don't know if they will run hillary. Certainly, she will try for a seat, but she's very polarizing. Maybe edwards. . . .

But yes, i believe kerry made the call to bush, and his speech is at 1 (or 2, depending on who you listen to)

You are that right, brother. My fear was that the demos would have chosen Liberman for presidency. That would have been devastating for our cause.
