Preferred Barrel Length

I'm after the Heritage Arms Rough Rider for my first gun. It comes in three barrel sizes, 4 3/4", 6 1/2", and 9". I was thinking of the 6 1/2'' becasue I think it is the most balanced withthe rest of the gun. You know, like the original Single-Action Army. What do you guys think?

My main goal is balance. I want it to function like a scaled-down old SAA. Af course accuracy ison te same level. If you have this gun (Rough Rider) it would be great if you could tell me how it handles. Most people would be to prideful to admit they have something so cheap, though... :D

I had the 6.5" one with the powder coat finish and adjustable rear/FO front. It worked great; balanced nicely. I could recommend it definitely, for the money. I only sold it because I found I had no use for it that other guns didn't fill nicely (I like my DA .22 revo over the SA Rough Rider). It had a lot of plastic parts was the knock on it. The .22 mag cylinder is very LOUD too.

You haven't said what you intend to do with it. If it is for all around fun, then let personal preference be your guide.

I was considering the Rough Rider and opted for the Ruger Single Six stainless with a 6 1/2" barrel. (You only asked about barrel, so buy what you want, but for my money the Ruger is a far better gun. I've never fired a Heritage, but I compared the 2 side by side. If you want a novelty gun, the Rough Rider might be fine.)

When I first got my Single Six, I thought it seemed a little front heavy during a prolonged session. Now after lots of live fire and dry fire, my grip has gotten better and I find it very comfortable.
