Here's my prediction for today's elections.
Bush will win the Presidency with a 5%+ margin. I have money on it, actually! Unfortunately for the Country, though, Hillary will also pull a win, and (most critically) by a larger margin than W.
So, tomorrow's spin will be two-pronged:
On one side, we will have the pundits claiming that the country has had a collective bout of PMS, or that angry white males have had a temper tantrum (remember '94?). Also on that same side, doom and gloom for a generously-assorted number of "minorities" and "groups" will be darkly and eloquently foreseen, all by the hand of the evil, imperialistic, uncaring, all-privatizing, unenlightened and cold-hearted Bush regime.
But on the other, and possibly on a larger extent, the talking heads (talking somethingelseheads seems to be more appropriate) will emphasize Hillary's win in NYS. That way, not only the Democrats will come out looking like they have "won the day", but also, the unrelenting and painstaking groundwork of the "next campaign" will be laid down.
The House and the Senate will remain R. Energized by the same nausea and disgust, the same Republican base that is, as we speak, getting off to the booths to elect W, will also choose to expunge their D congress and senate-critters from the National scene.
But get ready for more and more spin. If you think the media, as brazenly biased as I have ever seen them, will hang their heads and acknowledge that they have missed the boat and revise their outmoded (yet somehow still dubbed "progressive") agenda, you have another thing coming.
The next 4 years will be a torture for any freedom-loving TV viewer, as all of the Geraldos, Rosies (by the way, nanner nanner!) Straisands, Courics and other morons will tell the impressionable how bad this country has gotten and how much we need an additional dose of socialism.
That's why it won't be time for any of us to rest on their laurels.
"November Republicans" will have to try and steer their party (now in absolute command for the first time in eons) towards a more purely constitutional side.
Libertarians and Constitutionalists will have to not get discouraged, but keep campaigning the same effective way they have done in the past 6 months, as if life were a constant election. A Bush victory is at least a tiny step in the right direction. It at least says that the Country rejects out-and-out Socialism as preached and practiced by Gore and his humanoid surrogates.
Furthermore, people are listening and the time is ripe for a 3rd-party upsurge, if not yet victory. And a lull in the all-out attack on freedom that we have seen in the past 8 years is the perfect time to regroup and get dug in.
So, in many ways, the real work will start tomorrow. Get involved, take people shooting, talk to your Liberal friends, and seize every opportunity to refute the dominant media's spin to the sheeple you come in contact with.
Go Freedom 2000!!!!
