The last contact info I have for Precision Magazine Industries is:
Precision Magazine Industries

Los Angeles, CA 90058
Phone: 231 581 9193

Does anyone have an updated contact list as this does not appear to be valid any longer.

I am looking to purchase a couple of stainless steel 30-40 rounder mags.

Does anyone know what they are currently costing?

Thanks,
Jim

There is a guy on an email forum i subcribe to selling PMI's.Blue 30 rounders cost $34.95 in bag, stainless 30 rounders are $39.95.He also has one stainless 30 new,but not in bag for $34.95 and one stainless 40 not in bag for $39.95 email him at rambo-2000@home.com I bought 2 st.30 rounders 2 months ago(not from him)and they cost me $40 each.

i have factory ruger mags for $80 bucks if anyone is interested.by the time you buy 4 or 5 aftermarket mags and find out that only one of them works you are in for the same amount.

I asked this question about a year ago. PMI is out of business they are gone done finished! Get those mags while you can. I noticed ClipsNstuff Raised there prices $10 per mag in the last few months.

I also understand that PMI is out of business, but I don't see how that would have any bearing on the number of pre-ban PMI magazines are available. They have either been built or not, right? BTW, I see them pretty regularly here in Illinois at gun shows for around 35-40 bucks for a blued 30 rounders. 20 rounders have been scarce lately.
40 rounders also seem reasonably plentiful.

There around but harder and harder to get I've been to ClipsNstuff and other places and just look at the page for Mini-14 Mags and look at what happened to all the 20rd Blued and Stainless and the 30rd stainless mags. They say SOLD OUT. I talked to the guy there and he said trying to find PMI mags in there original packaging is what is getting harder to find.

I checked with rambo-2000@home.com (we probably saw the same ad) and I was a bit too late. He is currently sold out.

Thanks for all the info.
Jim

Something else to consider is upgrading one of the other aftermarket mags. I read a post some time ago from a guy who was replacing the mag spring with a Wolff aftermarket, tweaking the feed lips until they worked( mainly polishing IIRC), then heat treating the lips to harden them. He claimed after this work they worked as well as factory Ruger mags. Can anybody shed some light as to how one would go about heat treating these? How hot, i.e.,what color would the steel be( dull red, bright red, orange, ETC.) Also what type of quenching would be used?

What is the deal with the 40 round PMI mags. Why are the 40 rounders cheaper than the 30 or the 20 rounders?

Do they not work as well or simply less desireable?

Jim

20rd mags are the most popular because there easier to shoot from a table. 40rd mags don't have the same reputation as the 20 and 30rd but I have no personal Experience. I'd still buy them. But It is difficult to shoot them from a table.
