Pre trade thread thoughts on if it's a good idea

Cowboy guns are cool, but they're just no longer special to me any more. I have an Uberti 1873 Cattleman SAA Colt clone in .45 colt. I'm kicking the idea around in my head about trading it for a Cobra Patriot .45 (I still have some 1911 mags and 45 acp around) . Thoughts as to how even this is?

dont base your trade on it's worth in dollars and cents. my buddy bought a brand new ar-15, hated it, traded it in for a surplus romanian ak, he doesn't regret a thing. i traded a mossberg 500 worth 300 for an unissued yugo sks that shouldn't be worth more than 200. couldn't be happier. if you want to trade a kimber for a hi point and you feel happy with it then it's a good trade.

I've something of an aversion to cowboy guns, I'd trade it away in a heartbeat, or sell it. The Cobra Patriot is actually not a bad gun, I'd get one.

Somebody talked to the guy I was going to trade with and managed to convine him that:
1) I lied. Nobody makes a 45 ACP cylinder for the Uberti
2) I want way too much for it in that Uberti SAA Colts only sell for $250 NIB and have no collector interest so would be lucky if mine was worth $100
He didn't want to get into details about it, but needless to say... it's gone.
I'm madder than a wet cat.

Personally I think that the person who gave him misinformation did you a favor. But I like single actions so am biased. It was not meant to be and the next one will be a better deal, some times the best deal is the one you didn't make. Good luck : Bill

I agree with Sheepman. I wouldn't have made the trade anyway.

If you don't want it, put it up for sale and then buy what you really want.

Dropped a lure in the lake, but it doesn't look like anyone's going to bite. Had a few offers to buy; mainly people I see daily, but when weekend rolls around: No one comes to look, or even bother calling.
