Pre-Ban Hi-Caps for the Beretta Cougar - How Can This Be ??

I've just discovered that Promag are selling 15 round pre-ban 9mm magazines for the excellent Beretta Cougar, a gun normally plagued by those terrible 10 round affairs.

I thought the Cougar arrived just after the 1994 ban came into effect, I have never seen any factory original hi-caps let alone aftermarket copies such as these. Can anyone shed any light on this ?

You just missed another thread on this very same subject. The magazine used in the Cougar is exactly the same as the one used in the 92 except that the catch is in a different location. It is a very simple procedure to modify the Beretta 92 clips to fit into a Cougar and that is exactly what ProMag has done. They (and others) have been modifying their magazines so that they actually fit both the Cougar and the 92.

Even Beretta may be getting into the act...I have a Cougar mag with no markings on it except the "Berreta" and 5/10/15 stamps. Factory issue...go figure.

Since I have a 92, not a Cougar, it does me no good. Anyone want it?

Alex,

If I had one of the Cougar 9mm versions I would jump on it. :)

Right now I'm still thinking about it. Well, that and trying to save up enough money.
