Prairie Dog? in Kansas

Most common place is in or very near a prarrie dog town.;)
Used to be a lot of places, most landowners have eliminated them by poision (state sponsored, no less!). Used to know where there were several large towns, could shoot 'em all day with .22's.
Now they're getting harder to find. Most people that know good locations try to keep it a secret.
If anyone wants to share secrets I'm interested too!

yep

same here :( lol-live in hays and i was talking to a guy from great bend that said he went prarie dog hunting a while back at varminthunter.com.. talk to u guys later

I know that just south of I-70 about 20 miles from the Colorado Border is the "worlds largest prarie dog", I'd be careful hunting near him.. he's like 40 feet tall! :D

Seriously though western kansas is probably best, northwestern will get you into all kinds of Dogs.

I used to shrink at the idea of shooting the things.. until i realized i was helping to feed the raptors, coyotes and other predators.

So next time someone asks what you are doing.. you can say I'm feeding the raptors (boom)
