PPK extration problem

I recently picked up an Interarms (USA) Walther PPK in .380. The thing shoots great and has no problems when firing. The one area of concern is that when I clear the weapon, the unfired round in the chamber will not extract properly. I have to hold the pistol rotated about 120 degrees clockwise and rack the slide to extract the unfired round.

Is this common with PPKs? How do I replace the extractor spring. The disassembly manual which I have says to "press the extractor towards the breech face with a small punch, and draw the spring out.". The extractor doesn't move that way. Any help?

Think most auto's do. seems like if you open the slide really fast they will.
Tkink it's the slack built into the extractor. If the ex is to tight the round comming up out of the mag will hang up trying to go under it and then you got a problem

There's nothing wrong with your PPK
The Walther has problems ejecting loaded rounds.

The ejection port is not quite long enough, and the bullet tends to hit the front side of the port and cause the round to slip out from under the extractor.

Rotating it sideways like you're doing is the proper way to do it.

The slightly short ejection port is found on many autos, and is due to design constraints.
In other words, don't make the mistake of trying to grind or file the port to a larger size.
