PPK .22 project....Finished

Some of you may remember I picked up this real, honest to goodness, Pre-GCA, German made PPK .22 for an absolute song. It had spent its whole life as a working gun. the internals were in practicly new condition but the finish showed serious wear, consitant with a gun that was carried daily in harsh conditions. I strugled with the decison to keep it in origonal (but ugly) condition, or have it refinished. Since the wear was more that just character-adding holster wear (it had been droped on a hard surface on the bevertail area, the scared edge made it painfull to shoot) i decided to have it restored. Since I buy stocks for investment and guns for enjoyment, there wasnt any other choice. Sure I cut the value in half, but I dont plan on selling it, so does it really matter?
It still blows my mind how accurate this 50 year old pocket gun is. 10 yard groups look like they came form a MkII.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the finished product.

that is a beautiful job on the finish and the grips look great too...i'd be interested in getting a set for my .22lr PP

i don't know what it looked like before, but it looks great now :)

Very Nice!! This is making me rethink my position on my two PP's that aren't in that great of shape.

Very nice PPK!

I've been considering refinishing my CZ-70 on and off.

You just convinced me of what I need to do.

A QUALITY super-small 22 pistol. Buy, I'd love to have one. There just isn't anything that comes close being made today. Hey Carbon_15, I'd give you a couple a hundred for it! Hell, if you agreed to that, I'd even through in a big kiss!

LMAO
Bit in all seriousness, that about all I payed for it. Guy just thought he had some jusnky old pistol..and a useless .22 at that. You know, I almost felt bad about it....Almost.

Well, I'm jealous. Good looking, good shooting gun. I wouldn't worry about the 'value', as that's all relative for a 'shooter' anyway. Anyone who doesn't own or has never fired one of these (PP, PPK in 22.lr) doesn't know what they've missed.

One of these days, I'll have the scratch to buy another PP, and the brains not to sell it.

How much would something like that cost? I have a pistol that's in pretty bad shape. It's got bits of rust on it in places, too. I don't think it would be worth doing it to, but I would like to.
