I have the following information posted in my reloading area. Is this information valid?

W231 same as HP38
W296 same as H110
W760 same as H414

I also have

HS6 same as 540.

I do not have a letter designation for the 540. Is this a Vihtavouri powder or other?
 
Winchester Western used the 540 designation as a shot shell powder.
Also the HS6 was a hogdon designation and 540 was also supposed to be one in the same.
 
As Astocks said, W760 = H414.

Since taking over the Winchester powders, i believe Hodgdon has discontinued H414. The substitute is W760.

Note that bulk grade versions have wider burn rate specs and can vary significantly from the
canister grades, which are controlled for burn rate by blending with held back fast or slow 
lots, as needed to adjust them to within ±3% of their nominal burn rates.

Newer powders are not listed because the MSDS sheets no longer give the necessary information. But these days, you can save looking up the numbers just by looking at Hodgdon's load data. When you find two powders with totally identical load data, you know they are the same thing.
