Everyone isn't dry tumble..... but it did bring a LOT of people into this who were hesitant to buy the equipment for spraying. You still can't beat the coverage that you get with ESPC... but tumbling gets you 95% and it works great and is cheap.

Yes, PBTP powders shake well. I'd say they are the #2 place I'd buy if I wanted more than HF red/black. The first is this guy.... and he's cheap too. His powders are ultra fine and fluffy and all coat very well with tumbling. Smoke4320's powders
Although guncheese is posting beautiful pics and I believe his source is http://www.thepowdercoatstore.com

I have not yet seen any bad reviews of his powders. They work very well for me. I haven't even ESPC'd any of his yet, because they tumble so completely.

Powder By the Pound is a reputable dealer with good product. I tried The Powder Store with very poor results/customer service.

i need to stop taking days off on the weekends, i have ordered 3 lbs of powder, the 22 bator mold, 358 sizing dies and a bunch of 357/38 brass, not a ton of $$ but still

i least i bought enough junk to keep me busy next weekend

i thought about it, but i read on one of his threads that it has metal in it, he said it doesnt affect the barrel, but i still would rather not mess with it

I finally got around to using that powder I got from Smoke on castboolits(on beagles advice), I really like it, coats well, it could of don better, but I was being lazy and picking them up from under bb's and stuff. but even still, a great finish

gloss black on LEE 230gr 300BLK

If you're gonna tumble, you just can't beat Smoke's powder. He also now sells black AirSoft BB's. $3/1000.

'Wish he'da been sellin' em back when I bought that huge jug of em at Wally World.

Yup, but know that I have several colors, I'm kinda glad to have the big jug. I have four cool whip containers and they all have there dedicated color, still have half a jug left though

Electrostatic spraying adds about .002" in diameter. Tumbling depends on how thick you get the coat and how many times you tumble. Sometimes the powder sticks evenly and you get the same .002" and sometimes it glops up (humidity dependent, I believe) and you might get .004"

Either way, it sizes back down effortlessly with a Lee push-thru sizer die.

when your tumbling, the size can be pretty inconsistent, I learned the hard way that sizing after coating is 100% necessary, I loaded about 300 rounds that wouldn't go into battery:mad: luckily it wasn't too big of a deal, I didn't have to pull all of them, just had to remove the decapping pin and run the loaded round through the sizing die. im rambling again, amyways...it doesn't really matter the size increase, because you need to size them anyways, which is effoerless after the powdercoat and doesn't remove the coating at all.

only issue I have is on rifle rounds when the case mouth isn't getting flared, the case will shred off some of the coat, so I have to chamfer al the cases really well, pistol its a non-issue
