I've got one coming. It's at my FFL waiting period. Aldo Uberti, Richards Mason conversion of a 1860 colt. I did the paperwork and the guy let me look at it. It's a jaw dropper. Will post the picks soon............

I ordered this pistol about a month ago and finally was able to pick it up this AM. I got it from Buffalo Arms in Idaho through Cimarron. I guess it's in their catalog. It's my favorite of all. BTW it's chambered for .45 Schofield. I was thinking about taking a 1860 Colt and getting a conversion cylinder for it. Then I spotted this, it has the conversion cylinder, the loading gate and ejector rod. As a bonus it comes in a barrel length (5 1/2) that I like and listing for $415, it is also historically significant. Enough bragging.

It might be fun shooting with someone. I don't know of anyone near me that shoots blackpowder revolvers so I shoot alone, out behind the shed or out in the woods.
I was 62 before I ever had one in my hands. A gunsmith friend gave me a beat up Pietta 1858 just to get it out of his shop. I stopped at a sporting goods shop on the way home and got some supplies so I could shoot it. It has been down hill every since. That was a little over three years ago and I have sold most of my "modern" arms just to get the money to buy these replicas. I love them. I think one of anything gets lonely, can't have that. So there are two of most everything.
The nearest shop that has them is over fifty miles from me and I just found it this past summer. We don't wander that far from home very often.
Here is my "range" where I take care of the bad guys.

That's awesome, I too have only recently gotten the BP bug. I took it up last year in November for Deer hunting. I have thought about selling off my modern guns. I can easily take care of my firearm needs with these wonderful old replica firearms. I keep a loaded HK Compact .40SW and my 1858 Remington loaded with Ultramax .45 Schofield cowboy rounds, I would probably go for the Remington if trouble came my way. We sound like birds of a feather. You sure have a nice collection. I have added a few recently also, now I got guns everywhere running out of places for them. Anyway that's not a bad problem to have as I see it.
I got into buying broken ones and fixing them. Best hobby in the world. Fix them, shoot them, clean and oil, put then in a gun sock and store them.
My safe got full so I put them in a suitcase. That got full so I put them in a gym bag, but that got full. Then I started on a big cardboard box, that filled up. Opened a big drawer, full!!! Now I just pile them up in a corner.
I have a couple of nephews that are just waiting for me to drop over.

When I want to play "The Duke" and go after the bad guys, this is the rig I take out and make the bottles swing. Most of the work was done by a pard named Halfway Creek Charlie. I altered it to use a ported Kirst 45 long colt conversion cylinder. This is my favorite rig to play with, I think that is because Charlie done most of the real work.
Most of these pictures were taken after I completed the rigs, before taking them out and using them. They don't look so new anymore but that's ok because everything (and people) get worn with use.
