possible tougher laws for australia

Criminals don't obey laws.

Pass more laws.

Criminals don't obey laws.

Pass more laws.

Criminals don't...

Or worse....

Criminals don't obey laws.

Pass more laws.

Create new opportunites for criminals while doing their P.R. work for them (demonize guns so the outlaws appear more intimidating therefore outlaws desire the firearm as preferred tool)

Pass more laws. Create MORE lucrative black market.

Criminals do even more business...

Lawmakers convince world they're on the job.....

The left will never learn.........and the law abiding people suffer in the mean time.

Ultra tough punishment for the criminal misuse of firearms is the proved effective way to go.

So, Australia is going to pass more restrictive gun laws to cut crime? Why? It hasn't worked anywhere in the world before. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different outcome next time.

We need to get the idea that gun confiscation is about reducing crime out of our heads. Weapons laws are really about solidifying the power of some elite over a peasantry. This was true under the Japanese Shogunate when "sword control" made it illegal for anybody but members of the Samuri class to own weapons. It was true in Great Britain when the National Firearms Act of 1920 was passed ostensibly for crime control but really to make sure that there wasn't a Bolshevik type revolution because of the economic troubles that came after the end of WWI. It was true of the NY Sullivan Law that was passed to ensure that only Tamanny Hall thugs could get guns or the permits needed from a Tamanny-controlled NYPD. The list goes on. Now, what do the politicians want to do to people that makes them afraid for citizens to be armed?

I know, I am preaching to the choir.

hasn't even worked here.

After the 1996 Port Arthur tragedy, they brought in the current laws. Which, according to the bureau of statistics has done nothing to reduce the amount of violent crime and homicides.
