Magna Port: single and double porting on both sides? Recoil relief and velocity loss?
Hybra Port / Weigand - is this the venturi shaped porting with graduated size larger vents toward the muzzle? Recoil relief and velocity loss?
[edit]
KKM not hybra but HYBRID porting - Don't think this is the same as Weigand ? saw a ported 17L with triple vents all same size, about .250" (guess) once. Recoil relief and velocity loss? ( used to have unported 17L and know what factory porting looked like. This wasn't factory.
The "Keeper" system pictured in older gun mag articles by Chuck Taylor with multiple machined vents ( I believe on an N frame 44 IIRC ) but never written up who did it or if they are still in business. Anyone know? If still in business, recoil relief and velocity loss?
This would be used on 57/29/25 with 4" bbl., possibly Mountain Gun or heavy bbl., short ejector rod shroud.
Any experience with any of the above would be welcomed, no... accepted with gratitude and appreciation.
My tolerance for recoil used to be:
1) 4" 44 mag full power - not controllable for personal defense
2) 4" 41 mag full power - could shoot expert ( 90+ % ) on old revolver course ( could shoot distinguished master scores on same course with 2 1/2" mod 19 and 125 gr 357 mag.
-----------------
That was when I was young and stupid and took a 14" 35 Rem barreled T/C to shoot silhouettes.
-----------------
3) Today I go out with 41 mag 3/4 power Silvertips and find them as uncontrollable to me as the 44 full powers used to be. Lack of shooting practice and a distaste for the web of my hand bleeding all over my nice blueing (OK - I'm a wimp too, but I'm 5'4", and manly enough, but at some point with my small hands there just ain't enough man there to hold onto the too big grips ).
P. S.: Purpose is to tame a heavily loaded/ heavy recoiling 3 or 4" N frame into a male purse ccw gun I can add on top of carrying/in addition to my 380 browning or my bodyguard airweight always gun when my gut tells me it's time for something bigger around but there isn't enough reason to justify a rifle or shotgun. No more editing now, I hope.
