Popular Competition Pistol (Limited Class)

Want to convince my boss to buy a few competition pistol for limited class competition. Can someone help. I need to know what are the pistol that are currently used by the majority (Brand & model)

Did not see much S&W pistol in most top 50 list in most shooting competition as compare to STI, SVI, Caspain, Springfield etc) Why is that so ?

How to compare two pistol using visual and feel. Please help.

I would suggest going to the USPSA website and looking under the vendors page. There you will find all the gunsmiths that the major competitors use. Most competitors use STI, SV or Para. They make the large hi-caps which people want. Smith isnt popular because they dont make large hi-cap 1911 style pistols.

I have never seen any S&W for IPSC Limited matches. 90% of the pistols are variants of 1911.

I would suggest looking at either STI/SV or Para.

FWIW I shoot a Para P16.40 Limited.
